Isaiah 1:16-20

16 aWash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
bcease to do evil,
17learn to do good;
cseek justice,
correct oppression;
dbring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow’s cause.
18 Come now, elet us reason
Or dispute
together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as gwhite as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.
19 hIf you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;
20but if you refuse and rebel,
you shall be eaten by the sword;
ifor the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

Jeremiah 2:30

they took no correction;
kyour own sword devoured your prophets
like a ravening lion.

Jeremiah 5:3

3O Lord, do not your eyes look for truth?
lYou have struck them down,
but they felt no anguish;
you have consumed them,
but they refused to take correction.
mThey have made their faces harder than rock;
they have refused to repent.

Ezekiel 24:13-14

13On account of your unclean lewdness, because I would have cleansed you and you were not cleansed from your uncleanness, nyou shall not be cleansed anymore till oI have satisfied my fury upon you. 14 pI am the Lord. I have spoken; it shall come to pass; I will do it. I will not go back; qI will not spare; rI will not relent; saccording to your ways and your deeds you will be judged, declares the Lord God.”

Amos 4:6-12

Israel Has Not Returned to the Lord

6 “I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities,
and tlack of bread in all your places,
uyet you did not return to me,”

declares the Lord.
7 I also vwithheld the rain from you
when there were yet three months to the harvest;
wI would send rain on one city,
and send no rain on another city;
one field would have rain,
and the field on which it did not rain would wither;
8so two or three cities xwould wander to another city
to drink water, and would not be satisfied;
yyet you did not return to me,”

declares the Lord.
9 z“I struck you with blight and mildew;
your many gardens and your vineyards,
your fig trees and your olive trees aathe locust devoured;
abyet you did not return to me,”

declares the Lord.
10 “I sent among you a pestilence acafter the manner of Egypt;
I killed your young men with the sword,
and adcarried away your horses,
Hebrew along with the captivity of your horses

and afI made the stench of your camp go up into your nostrils;
agyet you did not return to me,”

declares the Lord.
11 “I overthrew some of you,
ahas when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
and you were aias a brand
That is,  a burning stick
plucked out of the burning;
akyet you did not return to me,”

declares the Lord.
12 Therefore thus I will do to you, O Israel;
because I will do this to you,
prepare to meet your God, O Israel!”
